ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Carolyn Oberst is visual artist whose colorful work is influenced by the different, yet interconnected worlds around her. Whether it is the current, contemporary world, the world she creates for herself in her studio, or her internal world of dreams, intuitions, and memory, these aspects infuse her work. She’s an interdisciplinary artist, working across painting, drawing, mixed media, wood relief, and video animation. Drawing is an important part of her process, and is the inspiration for this coloring book as a means to offer accessible ways to engage with and collect her artwork. Carolyn studied drawing at the Art Students League under Marshall Glasier and painting at the NY Studio School with Leo Manso. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in NYC and other major US cities. Internationally, she has had a two person show in Seoul, South Korea and an artist residency in Oaxaca, Mexico. She currently lives and works in NY, NY.
