ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nathalie Collins creates work that is fragile and impermanent, but simultaneously capable of being reconstituted or reincarnated. She is interested in how the many materials she uses - like tire shavings, graphite, glitter and gel medium - create a unique “world” through the simple process of making. The work loosely references organic forms, Collins wishing the viewer to find moments within her 2D and 3D constructions where one can fall into this abstracted world. Collins’ innate passion for mark-making is the cornerstone of her practice and ultimately drives the composition in an intuitive way. Collins received a MFA from Pratt Institute and BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago; she currently lives and works in Anchorage, Alaska. Nathalie has been a PARADICE PALASE member since 2021.
